Lucidity. [Jan. 17th, 2011|06:10 am]
Renegade Necrophile Princess
[Current Mood |awakeawake]

In that place between consciousness and sleep, I am a very unhappy person.

When I dream, I am a blank slate. I have no identity. I have little memories, save for the ones I make up to suit the situation that I am in. When I wake up, my brain goes through the process of putting back together the person that I really am… Like a computer rebooting. That’s when I remember all of the things in my life that I would rather not think about.

On the other hand, when there are things that trouble you in dreams and when you are in the process of waking up, it can be useful to know what they are so you can try to do something about them.

It's mostly un-dealt-with bullshit. Stuff about my family. Remembering that I haven't called some friends in a few weeks.. remembering that I am emotionally taxed by my brother and my father's health problems and I am ignoring it in favor of trying to do well in school. All these things and more that I ignore on a daily basis because it's just too stressful and depressing to think about...

I have the exact opposite problem. If I didn't have enough Xanax to help me sleep, the lucidity and sharpness of my dreams would tear me apart.

Its when I am awake I can't find my way.......
